Why do people hunt the lives of another people? There are many answers to this very ambiguous question! Some people said they are doing this because of money, some said they do it purposely for power while some said they do it out of hatred and annoyance. All these cogent reasons are very acceptable but the reasons aforementioned are not the bases of the ugly incident I am going to narrate as follow:
Tee boy was a very brilliant boy right from primary school to the tertiary institution which made people to like him. Competition among his colleagues to overtake him in the class but no way. Talent was different from capability. He was a different human being when it came to intelligence and understanding agility therefore his counterparts surrendered to fate and sought for educational assistance from him before and after examination. Even during examination on few occasions, he took them tutorial classes in order not to see him as a self-centered fellow.
Tee boy had won many prizes in the school and became a cynosure of eyes in the school premises pointing at him from far and near for those who were not present on the day of prize given. His name was written in the nooks and crannies of the school as the hero of their time. Every lady wanted to be her friend. Fighting over him in the school and outside the school premises was very common without his knowledge initially but got to his ears later. To the extent that sometimes it became an embarrassment to him and he was trying to be careful and smart and pretended as if he was not the one they were talking about.
In the final year, Tee boy graduated with a first class upper in Computer Engineering which gave him a golden opportunity to serve in an Automobile Company and was retained after the service year to continue his job. After confirmation, he was given a car of his choice and wardrobe allowance as well as housing allowance. Tee boy was sent to South Africa for one month training on new software introduced into the company for mechanical use.
Less than a year, Tee boy was able to build a house of his own while planning to get married with Derby, one of his course mates in school. They have been together for three good years before this wedding plan. She was very happy to see that Tee boy was finally hers. The wedding preparations began having picked the wedding date and the concerned people were quickly notified.
In a twinkle of an eye, the wedding day came and the people were celebrating to the fullness because it was
the day they had been impatiently waiting for. On Friday, they went to Registry followed by the engagement activities before going to Church the following day and finally resumed at the reception for wining and dining proper where people ate and drank and forgot their names! What a colorful and enjoyable wedding!It seemed as if that day would not pass but it has never happened! People left to their various abodes when they could not see themselves again. That day was a memorable day in the lives of drunkards and eaters. While the bride and groom could not wait to travel to Spain for their honeymoon visiting many beautiful places like Madrid, Santiago to mention a few. To the newly-wedded couple, a month was like a week and the thought of resuming to work beclouded Tee boy's mind but he had no option since he had not got another job than to resume to work. To be frank and factual, Tee boy really enjoyed his honeymoon with his wife.
After nine months, his wife gave birth to a set of twins- two identical males that resembled their father to the core. The twins were christened in the Church on eight days while the entertainment of guests was transferred home on a low key. Tee boy loved his twins and wife so much to the extent that he had promised them a traveling abroad anytime they were on long vacation in the view on planning his vacation during that time.Twins' mother could not wait to see them having a long vacation because she was teaching in a State school being the fact she enjoyed a lot when they went for their honeymoon in Spain. They were promised of United States of America which made her to take a pen and a sheet of paper to write some places she would like to visit during their stay in USA. She started counting the days left to the long vacation while disturbing her husband to plan ahead so that their plans would not be forfeited.
They made a solid arrangement and the trip became a reality as planned. They visited many exciting and beautiful places in the USA such as Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, and New York City to mention a few. They bought a lot of things from the supermarkets in these places such as toys, teddy, gums, food items, clothing materials, shoes, belts, spectacles etc. They also visited tourist centers, big markets, cinema halls, shopping malls, busy highways, Railway Station and so on. They paid visit to the places of some of their relatives living in US not too far from where they stayed. They spent almost two months before they returned to Nigeria to continue their work.
Three years later, Derby, Tee boy's wife gave birth to a baby girl while Tee boy had been promoted twice with a lot of personal achievements. He had got an acre of land worth of N3million after buying a personal car for his wife to ease her movement up and down. But, unfortunately Tee boy's family were not happy for his success being the breadwinner of the family and the only son of a monogamous family of five children. He had two elder sisters and two younger sisters. He was the "husband" of four! He tried all he could do within his capability for them but the eldest sister, an illiterate was not contented. She went to a herbalist to seek for power that he would use to inherit her only brother's property. She enchanted her brother to run mad and killed her brother's wife and children because of property. She also caused confusion in the family to the extent that no one could even say a word to what was happening. They were all enchanted!
Six months later, nemesis caught up with her when her first daughter unknowingly poured water on the charm she used to enchant her only brother whereas water must not touch the charm as she was seriously warned by the herbalist. Immediately, the water touched the charm, her brother regained his consciousness while she ran mad tearing her clothes and removing her shoes. People that knew Tee boy very well took him home for freshening up! The news of his consciousness got to the ears of his co-workers and they were very happy. His job was given back to him but he had lost his home! What a great loss!
